The Making of Gems

Nat handed me the lovely pink journal I got her and requested I write my own devotional material for her and Ash. Then some day I could publish it to bless other girls. Her request turned into pleading. As much as I would love to oblige her or maybe not just an obligation. I would really love to do it. I just cannot see how I can add on another dish on my already overflowing platter. There's a new baby in the family. There's a new church plant. It is a new season with uncertainties. Another task? But there's this nagging longing over the months.

I jotted down in my prayer journal under the list of important requests to God...thinking to myself, "Ok, maybe some day I'll do it. But when? The kids grow so fast." The thought lingered and recently I thought perhaps I should take baby steps. Begin with what I can. Blogging. A simple thought as heaven send those gems into my heart, I will share it through here so my girls and all the special women in my life whom I seek to encourage and bless (but cannot possibly write to all personally) can recieve the gem too. Also dedicated to all the beautiful women God created - He calls you "precious and honoured in his sight".

The world is very attractive and competitive. There are many treasures to sought after but yet there's only one treasure which lasts forever. The famous saying, "Diamond is forever" and it's a girl's bestfriend. However, the eternal gem is only found in God and His precious Word.

"Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal." (Matthew 6:19-20, NIV)

So to all the lovely girls and beautiful women, drop by and pick up a gem for your heart.
Happy New Year!
